The below link is to a short (but too long for a blog post) pdf text I’ve written titled “The Psychology of Decision Making.” It succinctly covers cognitive biases, logical fallacies, emotional reasoning, propaganda, common misperceptions, etc. that we all use and are prone to.
It amazes to learn how much of our decision-making is irrational, including decision-making we believe and claim is reasoned and logical. About 95 percent of our decision-making is done at the unconscious level. Brain scans have shown that decisions are made unconsciously before we consciously believe we have made a choice.”
The genesis of this text was when a friend and I were setting up a discussion group. The first rule for the discussions was “No logical fallacy.”
